Can you still get your Coffee Fix from Starbucks this Quarantine?

Aside from missing the great outdoors, we’re pretty sure that a lot of you miss your coffee shop hangouts, dates or study sessions because of the quarantine. Not to worry— there’s a silver lining in all this, and it’s that Starbucks is finally back in the game!

Last April 7, Starbucks opened up selected drive-thru branches for pickups. That way, you could get your favorite frappes, cold brews and barista faves even with the ongoing quarantine. Although you did need a vehicle for that since their cafe area was still closed off.

Drive-thru branches include areas in Metro Manila like Pasig, Quezon City, and Taguig, along with areas down south like Las Pinas, Cavite, Laguna, and Paranaque. They even have drive-thru options in Bulacan, Pampanga, Valenzuela, and Cebu! These were their list of branches, along with their corresponding operating hours:

Beverage and food options may have been limited and varied from store to store, but at least it was open. And everything sounded well and good, right?

Or so we thought. Just today, the above promotions were taken down, and we were greeted with this message. Apparently, Starbucks received “overwhelming reception” from their patrons, which meant long lines from very enthusiastic patrons.

Thus, Starbucks paused their drive-thru operations to support the government’s protocols on Enhanced Community Quarantine and social distancing.

It was good until it lasted. And sadly, Starbucks fans won’t be able to have their favorite cup of joe anytime soon.
