Pastors’ Son Brings Pride to Los Baños and Laguna with Three International Honors at IEMO 2026

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna — A young student from Los Baños, Laguna, has brought pride and honor to the Philippines after earning multiple awards at the International English Masterclass Olympiad (IEMO) 2026, held in Clark, Pampanga, from September 4 to 6.

Zacharraya Sun Sison, a 14-year-old Grade 10 student represented the municipality of Los Baños, the province of Laguna, and the Philippines in the international competition.

Sison demonstrated his exceptional English-language and communication skills throughout the competition, earning three distinguished recognitions: the International Trophy for News Broadcasting, a Gold Award in the HEAT Round, and an International Silver Award in the Finals.

His achievement in the News Broadcasting category highlights his talent and confidence in delivering information and communicating effectively before an audience. Meanwhile, his Gold Award during the HEAT Round paved the way for his advancement to the international finals, where he continued his impressive performance and secured the International Silver Award.

The International English Masterclass Olympiad (IEMO) is a word-power and communication competition organized by the Math Olympiads Training League Inc. (MOTLI) for primary and secondary students.

The International English Masterclass Olympiad brings together talented young learners and provides them with an opportunity to demonstrate their English-language skills on an international platform. The 2026 competition included an online Heat Round in June before qualified participants advanced to the Final Round in Clark, Pampanga.

For the young representative, the achievement is more than a collection of medals and trophies. It is a proud moment for the communities he represents—from his hometown of Los Baños to the entire province of Laguna and the Philippines.
