POCO F2 PRO IS PH’S CHEAPEST SNAPDRAGON 865 PHONE SO FAR

After more than a year since the release of the POCO F1 (Pocophone F1 in the Philippines), Xiaomi‘s POCO is finally back on the global stage, bringing with it a smartphone that’s familiar to us, the Poco F2 Pro.

POCO F2 PRO

The second POCO phone in the Philippines has been officially launched, formally signaling the return of the former Xiaomi sub-brand to the country.

POCO F2 PRO now available

Better yet? You can buy it from Mi Approved Stores today, June 15th. The POCO F2 Pro with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is priced at P26,990, and the one with higher memory configuration—8GB/256GB — is sold at P29,990.

Launch Sale at Lazada

But you can even get the smartphone at a lower price on its first-sale day online. Buy it from Lazada Philippines on June 18th and the two variants of POCO F2 Pro will be priced at just P24,990 and P27,990 respectively.

POCO F2 PRO

Cheapest Smartphone with Flagship Processor

Expensive at first glance, we know, considering that Pocophone F1 was sold for P17,990 at launch. Again, you might want to consider that it’s 5G-ready (though we don’t know if it’s compatible with the 5 G network in the Philippines). Plus, the POCO F2 Pro uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865, a chip that has raised the cost of owning flagship smartphones. So much so that even the OnePlus premium versions are more costly than ever before.

Now, if you compare the price of this POCO with that of, say, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus and the OnePlus 8 Pro — a point POCO raised during its product presentation — you’ll see that it’s actually 40 percent to 50 percent cheaper. In reality, it’s the most affordable Snapdragon 865 phone available locally. The Galaxy is for P55,990; the OnePlus, on the other side, is for P45,990.

We ‘re only contrasting on the basis of what we’re seeing on paper. The interpretation of the consumer can be a different matter. At least those who want to own a Snapdragon 865 handset, but cannot, because of prohibitive costs, have a option in the POCO F2 Pro, the rebranded Redmi K30 Pro. You can see the full specifications below.
